METZ Cutting Tools

Competent, reliable, quality-assured.

Metz Tools is your proven partner for cutting tools. As an owner-managed family business in its second generation, we stand for trustworthy cooperation at eye level.

We are a reliable partner for companies all over Germany as well as from France, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

With a team of 15 competent employees, we process more than 100,000 tools per year. Our focus on milling and drilling tools for machining makes us experts in the reconditioning of standard tools and in the customized production of special tools.

In addition, we work in close cooperation with machine manufacturers, software providers and suppliers. Furthermore, we only use materials and coatings from leading suppliers for our tools.

Our history

Wolfgang Metz starts machining cutting tools in the cellar of his parents’ home. His work quickly convinces his first customers and a year later he founds his own company. Just one year later, the company has outgrown its cellar and moves to Unterharmersbach.

Wolfgang Metz quickly equips the company with high-performance machinery – including several Deckel models, universal grinders and cylindrical grinding machines. The continual expansion of the grinding shop forms the foundations of the business, and this is further complemented by the addition of qualified employees.

Wolfgang Metz masters the entry into CNC technology. Due to the company’s growth, the existing premises become too small. So, after 20 years, the company moves to a new site at the entrance to the town of Zell am Harmersbach.

Daniel Metz, son of the company founder, joins the company.

Wolfgang Metz again invests in the growing company. The company headquarters, which are still in use today, are built in the industrial estate in Zell am Harmersbach. 15 qualified employees work on an area of 1000 square metres, 700 of which are used for production.

METZ Tools is now run in the second generation: Daniel Metz continues to manage the company in the spirit of his father. This is followed by extensive investments in digitalisation and the development of further production capacities through the acquisition of new CNC machines.

With the acquisition of Günter Franke GmbH in Kehl-Marlen, two strong partners come together as one – and together offer their customers comprehensive solutions for individual machining requirements.
